Studio Pei Zhu, a Beijing based architecture studio, designed the art museum of Yue Minjun 岳敏君. Located in Sichuan Province, it will house the work of the most famous contemporary Chinese artist.
Ten different museums will be built on the same site, all dedicated to one major Chinese artist. Zhang Xiaogang 张晓刚 and Wang Guangyi 王广义 will be among the ones to be showcased.
The complex, which is being developed by the local government of Dujiangyan, is the idea of Lu Peng, an art professor at the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Art 中央美术学院.

The Yue Minjun museum will contain exhibition space and a small artist’s studio. According to the Chinese architect Pei Zhu, one of the firm’s principals, a river rock that he picked up one day inspired the building’s shape, a large and oblong sphere. “Everything is based on the natural stone, which has a very strong relationship between the creek and the mountain and nature,” explains Zhu.
On the exterior, curvilinear walls will be clad in highly polished zinc, a soft metal that blends in with the natural surroundings while also giving the building a futuristic look.

We are a very recognized fine art printmaking studio in the US. We print for contemporary artists such as Hockney, Donald Sultan, and Robert Indiana as well as a few well known Chinese artists such as through their publisher.
Would you be interested in possibly a collaborative project featuring your artists in paperworks?
Best regards,
