
On Monday the 26th of April, the Chinese program of L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique launched a new design workshop. Dedicated to the brand « Haier », it gathers 35 design students from 5 different design schools:
- Tsinghua University 清华
- Tongji University 同济
- Shandong Art and Design University 山东工业美术学院
- Qingdao University 青岛大学
- L’Ecole de design Nantes Atlantique / China Campus

The Eco Design Fair Spring 2010 will open its doors from the 17th of April 2010 to the 18th.
The fith edition of this event will take place at the Jiashan Market, in Shanghai’s Xuhui District (Lane 550 Shaanxi Road South, no. 37).
With a record number of over 65 participating eco-conscious businesses, it will be the biggest event to date. Sustainable, organic, natural, non-toxic, recycled, ethical, energy-saving, and environmentally aware products will be exhibited. [Read more →]

British designer Tom Price’s solo exhibition at Chapter 7 in Hangzhou 杭州 was the culmination of a ten week invitation to China to create new works for the gallery’s opening show.
One body of work Tom designed is entitled “Thinker Tables” and is produced from black, white and grey polypropylene tubes that have been fused together, and then melted at one end to create a smooth flat tabletop. [Read more →]

Ryan Horsman, a recent graduate from the University of Michigan with a Masters of Architecture, created the Chopstick/Steamer Stool during a summer abroad program at B.A.S.E. Beijing. The goal of this particular project was to use everyday Chinese items in new ways. The Chopstick/Steamer Stool takes traditional bamboo steamers, thousands of disposable chopsticks and simple cushioning material, and combines them into a piece of furniture. [Read more →]

Damn Fine Tea has collaborated with the Minneapolis graphics team Aesthetic Apparatus for this special tin. It was designed for the Chinese New Year 2010 and has adorned upon it a big fat happy tiger in celebration. Each of these 50 tins (only 50 tins are produced) was printed in MPLS by Aesthetic Apparatus.
